Aging gracefully is an art, and Susan Wright, our August Aging Well Award winner, exemplifies it beautifully. At 81 years young, Susan is not only a remarkable woman but also an inspiration to us all. In this blog post, we celebrate her extraordinary journey and the positive impact she has had on her community, particularly among adults aged 65 and over.

Susan Wright is a living testament to the idea that age is just a number. For over four years, she has been leading the Holy Fit Exercise Class at Francis Street First United Methodist Church, a class designed to improve balance and core strength, which is especially beneficial for mature individuals. But Susan's dedication to her community goes far beyond exercise.

Susan has been an active member of Francis Street First United Methodist Church for her entire life. She served as a Trustee and participated in numerous committees over the years, showing her commitment to the well-being of her church and its members.

Before leading the Holy Fit Exercise Class, Susan also led a Water Aerobics Class for approximately 12 years. Her passion for promoting health and wellness among seniors is evident in her tireless efforts to keep her community active and engaged.

What sets Susan apart is her genuine care for others. She's known for her warm smile and constant concern for the well-being of her class participants. She's the kind of person who remembers birthdays with heartfelt cards and encourages everyone to take care of themselves during exercise. Her nurturing spirit fosters a sense of camaraderie within the group, making her classes not just about fitness but also about building lasting friendships.

Susan's contributions to her church and community extend beyond fitness. She's a pillar of support in various ways, and her impact can be felt throughout the community.
