April is Occupational Therapy Month, and we’re proud to recognize the incredible impact our Occupational Therapists (OTs) and Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) make every day—especially for homebound seniors right here at Freudenthal Home-Based Healthcare.
What is Occupational Therapy?
Occupational Therapists enable people of all ages to participate in meaningful daily activities and live better with illness, injury, or disability. "Occupations" can include everything from eating and cooking to personal hygiene, work, school, leisure, and simply aging well.
Occupational therapy is a deeply creative, problem-solving profession, helping people adapt and regain independence in everyday life. For homebound seniors, this means practical and compassionate support right where they live.
Freudenthal OTs and COTAs may assist with:
Activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, eating)
Adaptive equipment (shower chairs, reachers, etc.)
Family and caregiver training
Structuring meaningful and manageable routines
Home safety, fall prevention, and accessibility
Returning to favorite hobbies and activities
Our skilled OTs and COTAs are more than healthcare providers—they're partners in helping seniors remain safe, confident, and empowered in their own homes.
