At Freudenthal Home-Based Healthcare, we are proud to announce that the September Aging Well Award winner is Connie Hale, a woman who has dedicated her life to keeping others healthy, active, and inspired.
Connie was nominated by Justin Boyle, who shared how her impact reaches far beyond the walls of the gyms where she teaches. “Connie has dedicated her life to fitness. She currently teaches water aerobics, cardio, strength, and Young at Heart. Connie has changed the lives of hundreds of people through fitness and is dedicated to keeping seniors healthy, happy, and moving. Her clients love her rigorous training style and her ability to connect with everyone who joins one of her classes.”
For the past 25 years, Connie has taught exercise classes in St. Joseph, primarily at Anytime Fitness, but also at other gyms in the community. Her journey began when she attended a seminar and unexpectedly won a membership to the former Alice’s Energy Connection. That first step changed her life—she began taking fitness classes, discovered her passion, and eventually became an instructor herself.
Before fully devoting her time to fitness, Connie worked with the Missouri Department of Transportation for 23 years, retiring 12 years ago. Retirement didn’t slow her down—it only gave her more time to help others live healthier lives.
Through her dedication, energy, and connection with others, Connie embodies what it means to age well. Her commitment to teaching four days a week is proof that staying active is not just about physical strength—it’s about building community, sharing joy, and inspiring others to live life to the fullest.
Congratulations, Connie, on being recognized as our September Aging Well Award winner!
The Aging Well Award, sponsored by Freudenthal Home-Based Healthcare, honors older adults in the St. Joseph community who inspire others by living life with purpose, energy, and joy. Each month, one individual is recognized for their positive impact and example of what it means to age well.
