From Farm Fields to School Halls: June Aging Well Award Winner, Stanley Jackson, Still Inspires at 84

Freudenthal Home-Based Healthcare is proud to recognize Stanley Jackson as our June 2025 Aging Well Award Winner. At 84 years young and still going strong as a custodian at Helena Elementary School, Stanley’s dedication, integrity, and love for children have made him a beloved figure in the community.

Stanley Jackson proudly holds his butterfly-shaped Aging Well Award in front of the News-Press NOW backdrop.

For the past 22 years, Stanley has been a quiet but powerful presence at Helena Elementary School. Known for his warm demeanor, steady work ethic, and spotless hallways, Stanley’s commitment has helped the school earn recognition as the cleanest facility in the R-III school district two years in a row. But Stanley’s contribution goes far beyond cleanliness.

Described by teachers and staff as a role model to students, Stanley embodies respect, perseverance, and kindness. His sister-in-law, Connie Jackson, who nominated him for this award, shares that the children adore him—and the staff wholeheartedly agrees. It’s no wonder he’s received multiple awards during his two decades of service.

Before his time at the school, Stanley worked as a farmer—no stranger to hard work and long days. That same dedication now benefits the children of Helena. He says he “loves his job and the kids,” and his daily presence is a reminder that a life lived in service to others never truly retires.

Thank you, Stanley, for showing us what it means to age with purpose, humility, and heart. Your example reminds us all that no matter our age, we can still make a difference—one smile, one hallway, and one child at a time.
